Using traditional hand sanitizers may seem the right thing to do when you're in trouble, but many of them contain chemicals that are harmful to your health. Ingredients and chemicals such as triclosan, synthetic fragrances and synthetic, to name a few.
If you have a choice, always wash your hands with soap and water, but if you need a hand sanitizer for those times when soap and water are not available, these natural hand cleaners are the perfect solution.
I connect everything I have presented at the bottom of the post - you will notice that the essential oils I present are the Kidsafe Vegetarian Treatment Line - are perfect for these recipes. These recipes are directly from my first book, Organically Clean House - also linked in the "Mail Shop" section at the bottom of this post.
Components
2 oz Hazel Witch
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
5 drops tea tree essential oil
2 drops lemon essential oil
Dispense the ingredients directly into a small bowl with the top of the spray and shake for the collection. Spray on your hands, rub well, let the air dry.
Hand cleansing gel
This is my children's favorite hand-cleaning recipe, it leaves hands soft, and it's safe for kids to apply to themselves.
Components
1 oz pure aloe vera (not green material)
3 teaspoons alcohol
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
5 drops of essential oil - lemon and lavender are the favorites in this recipe
Remove with ingredients directly in a small bowl with a lid. Shake freely to mix all ingredients thoroughly. If you want your gel to be a little thinner in consistency, add a little more rubbing alcohol, up to a teaspoon.
Keep out of reach of young children, but keep where you'll use it most - in your bag, day care or car. It will remain for up to 2 months – you may need to shake a little before using.
